Somnoware, a leading provider of digital health technology, is pleased to announce the integration of Microsoft® Word™ Online, which enables physicians to create and edit their interpretation reports. This solution greatly improves the user experience, since it streamlines the reporting process and provides a familiar interface that does not require additional training to use.
It also allows physicians to simultaneously view multiple reports side-by-side to compare test results and to provide their patients with more efficient care. The working report files are stored as Microsoft Word documents in the Physician Study Manager (PSM) module of the Somnoware platform. The report templates are fully customizable and, if desired, an in-house template can be replicated for use with this solution. Since the report templates contain native Microsoft Word capabilities, physicians can easily change the report’s text font size and type, highlight important data, run spelling and grammar checks, paste or insert images, and use keyboard shortcuts; the report header and footer are also fully editable.
Data-mapping automatically links study data point fields to the corresponding ones in each report whenever a study is uploaded, so data does not need to be manually entered for each report. Data is auto-populated when data points are selected and inserted into each report. Physicians have the option to design and select their data point preferences, which saves them additional time.
Whenever physicians break from editing their report, they can return to the same file version and start from where they left off, since the file is automatically saved. By clicking on the “Sign” button, the physician’s electronic signature is added to the report. When they click on the “Finalize” button, the file is saved and the report automatically becomes a PDF file and part of the patient chart, which ensures data integrity.
Since the Somnoware platform uses HL7 integration, it provides real-time data migration to the facility’s electronic medical records (EMR) system. The account admin manages the security levels and provisioning, granting access only to devices that meet security standards and applying access controls on mobile devices. Reporting enables audit trails and allows admins to view how the interp report content is being used.
